The Philosophy of Andy Warhol

Alright so you guys probably already know that I'm a huge fan of Andy Warhol. I recently received this book in the mail which I ordered from Borders called "The Philosophy of Andy Warhol". Let me just say, this is by far the greatest book I've read. To me, this book is not just one of those books like Twilight or the new vampire trend. This is an inspirational autobiography of a painstaking artist which was an average fun loving guy like most of us. So what is so inspirational about him? Well to begin, he was a well known guy in high school but he considered himself a loner. I think that many people these days are really loners on the inside. They can be the most popular people on the outside but on the inside, they will have the empty, not understood feeling that a lot of us get. Reading this book, I've learned many things about fame. Andy Warhol states that in the future, everybody will have their 15 minutes of fame. I have yet to receive mine but I know that with hard work and self motivation, I will soon reach those 15 minutes or more. I try my personal best to be good enough in my eyes. Whenever I make a drawing or painting, I have to make sure that it is exactly how I like it. I believe that I don't have to impress nor please anyone. When I make a video weather it is for youtube or a project, I do it out of enjoyment, not for the sake of fame. People can't buy their own fame. They just get acknowledged for things they do which make them famous. Andy re-invented art in his own way which was known as pop art. So pop art is a form of art where Andy proved that anything can be art. That brings up my next topic. The Campbell's Tomato Soup can. This is an intriguing piece of art. Andy painted this proving that even a can of soup is art! I wish that he was still alive so that I could have met him. He did things that I would never dare myself to do. He ran away from home when he was about 16 to pursue his dream. He lived in the strangest of places and he could not walk around New York knowing that he will not see one of his ex room mates. So what exactly made Andy Warhol as famous as he is now? It's actually quite simple: He did what he truly loved and believed in and turned that into his profession. He did have to suffer at times but the outcome of his art was superb.
